Bullying Policy

PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY

The purpose of this policy includes that prohibition of every form of bullying or harassment which occurs in the classroom or elsewhere on the school premises. Bullying or harassment which is initiated at a location that is not on the school premises is not covered by this policy. Orion College expects pupils to conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with their levels of development, maturity and demonstrated capabilities with a proper regard for the rights and welfare of other pupils and school staff.

Sexual Harassment Policy

INTRODUCTION

Orion College is committed to ensuring that employees and learners are not subjected to any
form of sexual harassment. Persistent, unsolicited and unwanted sexual advances or suggestions made by one person to another, regardless of gender and/or sexual orientation will not be tolerated. Violations of this policy will lead to disciplinary action, which may include dismissal, expulsion and/or criminal charges. The management of Orion College have a responsibility for addressing all reports of harassment. In dealing with cases of sexual harassment, the Management shall be guided by the Code of Good Practice as contained in Schedule 8 of the Labour Relations Act, 1995 and the NEDLAC Code of Good Practice on the Handling of Sexual Harassment Cases
