Our Primary School celebrated World Book Character Day 2026, with both teachers and students showcasing their enthusiasm and creativity in full force!

Today we had funky hair and hat day 2026, featuring unconventional hairstyles and hats, which showcased both the student’s and the teacher’s creativity!

Our Grade 10,11 and 12 students embarked on an educational field trip to OR Tambo International Airports as well as to the South African Airways Museum, gaining valuable insights into the travel sector of the tourism industry while enjoying an engaging learning experience.

Our Interhouse Gala took place at the end of February. The weather was great, and both learners and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Congratulations to the Gladiators, who secured the top position and the spirit cup!

Congratulations to the class of 2025, and the dedicated staff and parents who contributed to this incredible achievement. A Special congratulations goes out to Alex Wilsenach (Matric 2025), he has been awarded for being one of the Top LSEN learners in the district.

We held the 2025 Orion College School Concert. The Theme was Peter Pan and The Lost Children. The learners and teachers who took part gave a performance filled with magic and imaginative storytelling. The night was one to be remembered and celebrated.

Last week Thursday, our Grade 9 and TOC learners embarked on a powerful excursion to the Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre, where they explored two significant historical events: the Holocaust and the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. This experience has ignited a commitment to fostering a more compassionate society.

Afrikaans,  one of the youngest, coolest and fastest growing languages on the planet – hit the big 100 on the 8th May 2025 and Orion College was not about to let that moment pass quietly! We brought the vibes and celebrated this historic milestone in true Orion style.
We were honoured to have the Department of Education, Afrikaans Subject Advisors as well as the CEO of RACA join us in celebration.
