ENRICHMENT
AN ACTIVE AND ENRICHING SCHOOL LIFE
Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Orion College, we believe that education extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms. Each year, we curate a vibrant calendar of fun and enriching activities that promote development, participation, and community spirit — while also supporting important fundraising initiatives.
Some of the highlights include:
- Book Days
- A variety of academic and fun outings or visits
- The much-anticipated Restaurant Evening, hosted by our talented Consumer Studies learners
- Charity-driven events, such as Slipper Day, the CANSA Shavathon, and our magical Carols by Candlelight Picnic
In addition to these, we offer weekly enrichment activities like interactive dance sessions and horse-riding therapy, helping our younger learners grow in confidence, creativity, and compassion.
INTERACTIVE DANCE WITH B-MOVED
Learning Through Movement
At Orion College, we believe that movement is a powerful tool for learning and development. Our Primary School learners, from Grade R to Grade 6, take part in weekly interactive dance sessions led by the vibrant and talented Bianca and her team from B-Moved.
These fun-filled sessions combine dance, songs, and games designed to promote:
• Teamwork and cooperation
• Active listening skills
• Coordination and rhythm
Through movement, learners build confidence, improve physical awareness, and have a whole lot of fun — all while learning valuable life and social skills.

HORSE RIDING WITH THE EARTH CENTRE
Learning Through Movement
College has proudly partnered with The Earth Centre in Ruimsig, offering our Foundation Phase learners a truly special opportunity — Horse-Riding Therapy.
Each week, a group of learners visits The Earth Centre to take part in sessions designed to build:
• Core strength
• Balance and coordination
• Self-confidence
• And most importantly, a love for animals

This uplifting program is made possible through the generosity of The Earth Centre, a non-profit organisation committed to changing lives through equine-assisted therapy. They rely on the support of the public and philanthropic sponsors to continue their incredible work.
